Erykah Badu has been my favorite recording artist since I was a teenager. When I decided to start working on paintings of women, I knew that she had to be included. I loved painting this piece so much, it was hard for me to think of selling it.

I wanted to paint Michelle. HAD to paint her, actually. Such a stunning woman with a fierce gaze, I wanted to recreate her the best that I could.
